Transaction Overview

Spayne Lindsay & Co. announces the acquisition of Cornpoppers by Kettle Foods

Spayne Lindsay is delighted to announce that it has advised Kettle Foods on its acquisition of Cornpoppers from its founders.

Cornpoppers was established in 1979 and is a privately owned business, supplying branded and private-label popcorn products to retailers and wholesalers. Among its branded range are three cinema-style popcorns, as well as specialty flavours such as jalapeño, chilli and lemon, and maple syrup.

This acquisition follows on from Kettle Chips’ acquisition of Metcalfe’s skinny last year and represents their continued commitment to the popcorn category, one of the fastest growing snacking categories in the UK.

Iain Maysh, Finance Director at Kettle Foods Ltd, commented:

“This is another exciting step for us. The acquisition will allow us to fully manage all aspects of popcorn production and to offer our customers a great range of quality popcorn products. Spayne Lindsay have been very helpful again with their clear advice and support on this transaction.”
