Spayne Lindsay & Co. LLP advises on the disposal of Streamfoods.
Streamfoods Limited (“Streamfoods”) has been sold to Wellness Foods Limited (“Wellness Foods”). Streamfoods, with sales of £10 million, supplies natural and healthy fruit snacks under the Fruit Bowl brand to the UK market.
Streamfoods supplies a range of fruit products, including Fruit Flakes and School Bars, to meet demand for healthy snacks, and in particular the “lunch box” market. The founders saw a real consumer need for healthy snacks and the business has now grown to become the UK’s leading supplier of healthy fruit snacks, supplying all the major multiples in the UK food business.
The business operates in a very interesting segment of the consumer sector, where impressive growth is being achieved on the back of a fast-increasing consumer trend of healthier, convenient snacking.
Wellness Foods was established in 2005 and Streamfoods is its fourth acquisition in the past 12 months. The company is looking to make investments and acquire brands in the manufacture and supply of natural, organic and healthy foods.
Spayne Lindsay assisted the executive management team of Ian Ding and Paul Newberry in maximising the value of the business they founded in 2000 through an expeditious process while minimising disruption to the business. Streamfoods continues to trade successfully with strong growth in which Ian and Paul have demonstrated their belief by staying with the business under its new ownership.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
